Picture of the Month
By the later 1880s, Vincent Van Gogh had become fascinated by trying to paint the night sky. It became a common theme in his works, which culminated the iconic Starry Night, shown above, on the right.

The painting on the left was painted a year earlier by Van Gogh, and shows some of the elements which were exaggerated in Starry Night.
